Meteoric Happiness

Yesterday, I took year-end packages to our accountant. My husband stopped working a couple of hours earlier than usual and neither one of us worked last night. We had reubens and ice cream for supper. Before we went to sleep last night I told him there would be meteor showers in the morning when we woke up.

The first thing I heard this morning was “I saw a meteor; are you getting up?” I hurried and put my big duffle coat on over my thick hoodie and flannel pajama bottoms. I went outside to look up at the heavens to witness something magical and wondrous in the cold velvet sky.

We’re happy and we’re lucky.

Oh, lucky! You saw the meteor shower! I thought about getting up to view the sky, but the dogs were sleeping on all sides of me and I didn’t want to disturb that delicate balance. Happy and lucky. Life is good.

I promised myself to get new chaises this spring so we can lounge with our coffee in the summer mornings to see what’s up there. We love the dark sky so we must make time to appreciate it.

  2. What a great way to start the morning! I’m envious. In a good way. 🙂
