Pressing Romney

Mitt Romney was on Meet the Press today. David Gregory asked him several questions that he did not answer, directly or indirectly. Finally Gregory asked, “Will you balance the budget in your first term; is that a commitment you can make?” Romney replied, “I’ll balance the budget by the end of my second term. Doing it in the first term would cause, I believe, a dramatic impact on the economy. Too dramatic, and therefore, the steps I put in place, we put together a plan that lays out we can get to a balanced budget within 8 to 10 years.”

I wish he’d lay it on the line and tell us how he intends to do what he says he can.

Romney’s platform reminds me of Richard Nixon’s “secret plan to end the war in Vietnam.” In short, “elect me, and I’ll do some really great stuff, but I can’t tell you what.”

What a guy he is! So hooow is he going to balance the budget in such a way that it would be too ‘dramatic’ for us to take, hmmmm? Perhaps by cutting everything damn thing in sight?

What a guy, he’s going to stretch his torture out over 8 years. He shall be called, “Romney the Merciful,” by all his subjects!

Obama has the right idea; protect those earning less than $250k.
Businesses that don’t reinvest their profits in their businesses should not get a free pass. Our businesses are pass through entities, meaning we are taxed for entity profits. We pay the people working with us fairly because it is the right thing to do and it is a business reinvestment. PEOPLE are a business’s most valuable asset. This is the main reason Rmoney keeps harping on small business, there are a lot of businesses that take the profit out of the business to line the owners/partners pockets, individuals then make investments to escape taxes. Rmoney is scary!

Don’t get me started on what a useless “journalist” David Gregory is… the man can’t ask a tough question, or a good follow-up question…

  4. He is going to improve the economy the same way Bush did… oh… wait…

  5. I wish somebody would catch him when he does this crap, and ask and ask until they get some kind of answer. That would show him for the nincompoop he is, and maybe we can stop his constituency in its tracks.

David Gregory got ripped on twitter for the Romney interview. Here’s the dirty little secret. If, and I think it a big if, Mittens musters the necessary 270… on day one he introduces a 300 billion dollar stimulus packages. He knows what austerity has done to Europe.

  7. Peggy says:

Oh, so he thinks he can do it in 8 years but he has condemned Obama because he hasn’t done it in 4?
