Public Service

This public service message is brought to you by Big Bird and his friends at PBS. Frontline had a great neutral piece, The Choice 2012. It was informative and unbiased. I do not like Governor Romney, I do not trust him, I will not vote for him. This piece depicts him as a human being and highlights some of his strengths. I encourage you to watch it because it provides some insight to President Obama too.

Regardless of our positions, it is always beneficial to try to view the opposition from an objective vantage point. I hope President Obama will serve another term but if he doesn’t I owe it to myself, and to my country, to learn about what’shisname.

  1. Just once can we decide the presidential election by letting the two candidates put on boxing gloves and stepping into a ring? Please?

  2. ryankane says:

What are you qualms about Governor Romney?

    • elroyjones says:

He is out of touch with the majority of the people here and understands nothing of their concerns; his support is for the wealthy and he lies about his positions on important issues.

      • ryankane says:

Governor Romney is not out of touch with the people, and President Obama is. After all, didn’t Obama say that the Private class is doing fine? The Governor will work for the middle class, and his economic plans prove that. Show me where he lies about his positions on important issues.

This link has a good example of Governor Romney’s casual relationship with the truth You can also review his statements at FactCheckorg and

Governor Romney has absolutely no concept of what life is like for the majority of Americans, as evidenced by his comment regarding adult children borrowing money from their parents to start a business. The average American family has a savings account balance of $3,800.00

Obama did say the private sector is doing fine. Taken in the context that jobs are slowly being created, his statement is true. However, if the definition of fine is an economic rebound to the heights attained during the false prosperity pre-economic crash then I would have to agree that the economy is not anywhere near as falsely robust.

Are you privy to Governor Romney’s economic plan? I would be delighted if the plan specifics could be provided to me. I was unaware that he had a detailed plan for public viewing. I was of the, apparently mistaken, opinion that he is a Partial Plan Man, more of our money for him and his cronies and less for us. I wonder if part of his “Plan” includes closing the Carried Interest loophole?

  3. Know thine enemy! Good for you!

  4. webnerbob says:

EJ, I wish more people had your attitude about this election and trying to understand both candidates as people.

    • elroyjones says:

It is really hard to be fair WB, because, as you know, I am biased. As individual citizens we are part of a whole and we must be responsible. Thank you for your kind observation.

      • webnerbob says:

I think we are all biased, in some form or another. The key is whether people are even trying to understand opposing viewpoints. It happens rarely. That’s why I commend your efforts to do so.

Am watching this now and must say, I was struck by the fact that George Romney was a “liberal to moderate Republican.” Good lord! I forgot they used to exist. What a wonderful concept.

  6. Peggy says:

Fabulous! What a great show. Thanks.
