Finding Cora

In 1978, Cora was fed up with work and responsibility. She was sick of the drizzly, grey misery called spring. Inspired by resentment and discontent she decided to do something scandalous. She ditched all of it for a month. Didn’t tell anyone she was going and came back when she was damn good and ready. After they found her.

If you were a woman sick of drudgery, imposed by others, and circumstances beyond your control. Why yes, there are a lot of similarities. People sneaking in and out from under the covers, being chased by domestic animals through bluegrass hills, going for airplane rides- just like you and Cora, remarkable!

Spring isn’t always about a rebirth, a starting over, is it. Spring teases, seldom pleases. Last Saint Patrick day here in the Windy. 83 degrees. This year…real feel mid-twenties.

It’s been all grey gloom here. Today it’s cold again. Feeling put upon. We talk about packing it in and running away, which will never happen due to the accelerated pace of time.

I hope she worked harder at not being found the next time she left….

  4. I am usually catching up, reading posts in reverse order. Fortunately, I realized in time that I had stumbled into a serialization and found my way to the beginning. Now I can gorge myself on several days’ installments.

I finally found the beginning… got lost in all the pages… it’s been fun.
