Empty Hours

It was an activity to fill the hours after the bars closed and the parties ended. It was something to do when she wasn’t ready to go home. Chance kept them together.

She would have respected his privacy, if he’d dignified her feelings with the truth. The retaliations were subversive, unhappy secrets that he was never privy to.

    i was left in an empty hour once; it turned into the best three and a half day stint of my life…..there was nothing retaliatory or subversive about it though; just something pleasurable to do when you’re stranded on the other side of the world
